My Story
My journey began with the inspiration of my mother’s drive and her own early recognition as a future leader. My education at Rutgers University, where I earned both a Bachelor's and Master’s degree, laid the groundwork for a career of service and impact. As a published researcher, I broke new ground in educational access for underserved communities, presenting findings at the UX Professionals Association conference in 2021 and speaking at several other conferences.
“Tyreek's experience in the UXR field, his human-centered approach, and his willingness to share his time and expertise make him a fabulous mentor and I feel lucky to know him!
Tyreek's warmth, encouragement of authenticity, ongoing mentorship, and connections in UXR are a HUGE reason I have a job today ☺️ I met Tyreek through ADPList when I was trying to land a UX Researcher role. Tyreek not only gave me extremely helpful tangible advice I could apply to the job search as well as actionable feedback on my resume, LinkedIn profile, and portfolio, he gave me "human" advice. He told me to focus on my uniqueness about what makes me me and what stories I can share, because no other applicant can replicate that. I really needed to hear that after being inundated with run-of-the-mill robotic job search advice. He also recommended applying for a job at a company he knew was friendly to recent PhD grads and stayed in contact with me throughout the interview process to give me advice on nailing a technical interview. I just found out last week I got the job! Tyreek's experience in the UXR field, his human-centered approach, and his willingness to share his time and expertise make him a fabulous mentor and I feel lucky to know him!”
